A 10.000 sq m residence located in Sinaia, on Prahova Valley, Romania, in the historic area of the city. The 4.000 sq m site is located between two parallel streets and has an inclination of almost 27 degrees. The inclination of the terrain, the accesses on the site and the seismic risk made the structural design and construction planning challenging. The building has three parts, two of them that mirror each other in relation to a central part. The uphill building includes a two floors parking space provided with a car elevator. Loft apartments and suspended gardens were designed at the superior levels of all three building parts. The structure is made of reinforced concrete pillars, beams and walls. The facades were decorated with false fachwerk elements to mimic the old surrounding buildings.
